I find it interesting when we small town Midwesteners happen to turn up in Manhattan and find that we like it- really like it. My wife and I have been there for three or four days twice in the last 20 years or so- with friends both times- going to Broadway shows the first time and visiting museums and Central Park the second time. Even walking the streets early in the morning. We love it- Rural and small town Wisconsin are great- but Manhattan does not scare us anymore.
Thank you, Michael! I was at a point where I needed to be reminded how thankful we should be. I read about breakfasts this morning in Coop, and now this. As always, you helped reset the attitude.
Every Monday night where we are is cans to the curb night for Tuesday garbage and recycling pickup. It comes around so fast each week I tell my wife, “Didn’t I just do this?” The rhythms of life change, especially in retirement. Some things slow down, others accelerate. And gratitude blossoms for this life of challenges and splendors.
Golden moment.
Please don’t put down your farmhouse. That farmhouse holds many memories of moments that you hold dear. It’s not cruddy!
Love you. Thanks for these lovely moments to listen to your thoughts. 💕
THIS! This. this. The wider world is necessary and greatly wonderful and appreciated. And yet Dorothy was right. There is no place like home. ❤️
Loved your honest ramblings…I could sense that you are just happy to be alive…and that is enough! Wellllll…….
I so appreciate your thoughtful insights. Great to here during a crazy workday pause.

Thanks Michael. It's good to see your face again even with the goofy glasses!
This was a nice, unexpected surprise! Thank you.
