Although gentle people may lose many battles, we often do succeed in the long run, as exemplified by people like Martin Luther King and Aldo Leopold. (Not that we are on their level). But maybe, we are at least on the same team.
We had Holsteins, not sheep. But the same rings true that taking some time to just be out there with them and watch them in the field, going about their business, always cleared my head.
