Your thoughts about the cardinal remind me of a cardinal that had the misfortune of flying in my folks house thru a open sliding door. They had a rough wall texture, like sandpaper, so when the cardinal would fly to try to escape, he would scrape the ceiling. Well he rubbed the little clump of feathers off the top of his head leaving little spots of blood on the ceiling. Dad ended up painting all these little red dots.So the ceiling had spots of brighter white paint for a few years till the whole ceiling got a new paint job. They would see this cardinal without the feathers for a few years and always felt good it had survived its adventure.

Thanks for listening.

The vines seem to double in length overnight. A trail passible on Monday is hard to find by Friday around here and I can’t believe I forget how thick it can get in such a short time. I tease our cardinals by repeating their whistles and they echo back and add something to the song each time. That’s the throw down. Which bird can make the longest tune wins in their world.
